Safran, through its subsidiary Safran Corporate Ventures, recently announced its investment in Metavonics, a French startup founded in 2021 and specializing in critical avionics technologies. This project is taking place alongside another investment from TTTech, an Austrian company, and is part of a €7.3 million funding round.
Next-generation avionics technologies
Avionics systems are essential for aircraft operation, particularly for data management and onboard equipment monitoring. Metavonics develops solutions based on a modular approach, designing standardized and certified electronic components, as well as software tools that facilitate the development and integration of avionics functions. This method aims to simplify and accelerate avionics development, facilitate system maintenance, and improve overall performance of onboard equipment , explains Florent Illat, CEO of Safran Corporate Ventures.
A strategic partnership
This funding is accompanied by a partnership agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense, as part of Safran Corporate Ventures' strategy to support the development of innovative technologies for aeronautics. With this investment, Safran Corporate Ventures supports French innovation and the transformation of critical avionics. " adds Florent Illat.
