Omron's industrial automation experts hold the first event of their European roadshow Flexible Manufacturingwith exclusive demonstrations of cutting-edge man-machine collaborative solutions, which are not usually visible outside a factory, due to their large footprint.
On December 14 and 15, 2021, at the Automation Center "autonomous mobile robots" in Annecy, France, a select group of manufacturers from the automotive, food and pharmaceutical industries attended a presentation to rethink and reconfigure their production lines. With over 600 m^2^, the demonstration and conference areas of the roadshow showcased a range of practical solutions for the factory of the future, enabling flexible, intelligent production improvements.
The roadshow offers visitors a unique experience of large-scale man-machine industrial automation solutions to address some of the key challenges affecting manufacturers, such as palletizing, transport and traceability. In addition to Omron's most powerful fully autonomous mobile robot (the HD-1500) for heavy loads up to 1,500 kg, a wide variety of flexible palletizing and autonomous material handling solutions were on display, including:
- case and pallet transfer systems ;
- transfer of cases from a top conveyor to a mobile robot;
- Omron T Series collaborative robots for palletizing and depalletizing applications;
- Omron LD series autonomous mobile robots;
- traceability solutions integrated into machine vision systems.
Enabling more agile and flexible manufacturing with less manual labor, lower energy consumption and better overall yield, Omron's solutions are also scalable to adapt to the digital age. Each system offers a combination of natural and autonomous navigation, a loT dashboard, integrated serialization and traceability throughout the manufacturing process, and of course, our intelligent Sysmac enterprise control platform.
The roadshow Flexible Manufacturing flexible continues its journey in Europe during the first six months of 2022. Eduardo De Robbio, Director of Strategic Business Development at Omron EMEA, says: "We're delighted to be showcasing some of our most dynamic and collaborative human-machine automation solutions off the factory floor, and to be touring Europe for the very first time, so that our key customers can examine the flexible manufacturing systems of tomorrow. We hope the Roadshow will inspire today's manufacturers to reinvent the potential of their production lines, enabling their facilities to remain flexible for years to come."
