Industrial automation experts Omron organized the first event of their European Roadshow Flexible Manufacturing, with exclusive demonstrations of state-of-the-art collaborative human-machine solutions, which are usually not visible outside a factory, due to their large footprint.
On December 14 and 15, 2021, at the Automation Center "autonomous mobile robots" in Annecy, France, a group of selected manufacturers from the automotive, agri-food and pharmaceutical industries attended a presentation to rethink and reconfigure their production lines. With more than 600 m^2^, the roadshow's demonstration and conference spaces showcased a range of practical solutions for the factory of the future, enabling flexible and intelligent production improvements.
The roadshow offers visitors a unique experience of large-scale human-machine industrial automation solutions to address some of the key challenges affecting manufacturers, such as palletizing, transportation and traceability. In addition to Omron's most powerful fully autonomous mobile robot (the HD-1500) for heavy loads of up to 1,500 kg, a wide variety of flexible palletizing and autonomous material transport solutions were on display, including:
- crate and pallet transfer systems;
- transfer of crates from a top conveyor to a mobile robot;
- Omron T-Series collaborative robots for palletizing and depalletizing applications;
- Omron's LD Series autonomous mobile robots;
- traceability solutions integrated into machine vision system.
Enabling more agile and flexible manufacturing with less manual labor, reduced energy consumption, and a better overall rate of return, Omron's solutions are also scalable to fit the digital age. Each system offers a combination of natural navigation and configurable autonomy navigation, a loT dashboard, serialization and traceability integrated throughout the manufacturing process, and of course, our intelligent Sysmac control platform of the company.
The Flexible Manufacturing flexible roadshow continues its journey in Europe during the first six months of 2022. Eduardo De Robbio, Director of Strategic Business Development at Omron EMEA, said: "We are delighted to showcase some of our most dynamic and collaborative human-machine automation solutions off-factory and to tour Europe for the very first time, so that our key customers can examine the flexible manufacturing systems of tomorrow. We hope the Roadshow will inspire today's manufacturers to reinvent the potential of their production lines, allowing their facilities to remain flexible for years to come. »
