With the launch of the new optoNCDT 1900 laser triangulation sensor with EtherCat, Micro-Epsilon has developed a powerful sensing solution for factory and plant automation. This sensor enables high-precision displacement, distance and position measurements in a multitude of measurement tasks while providing high cost-effectiveness.
Thanks to the integrated Industrial Ethernet (EtherCat) interface, the sensor offers advantages, especially for fast processes and networking of multiple devices and machines. Integration via EtherCat into a bus system can be done according to standard protocols (TCP, UDP, FTP) and thus facilitates communication. Thanks to the direct output of data via EtherCat, the measured values are available in real time. An oversampling function also contributes to the rapid recording of measurement values. As a result, measurement data can be transmitted four times faster than the API cycle time allows.
The sensor is also equipped with intelligent surface control. Advanced surface compensation works with new algorithms and enables stable measurement results even on demanding surfaces. The sensor is extremely resistant to ambient light and can also be used in brightly lit environments.
