SoftGrippers are a concentrate of technology. Whereas most grippers are limited to a single task, Nomad Robotics Softgrippers can be used for a wide range of applications, thanks to a modular system and FDA certification.
From the outset, SoftGrippers have been designed with the user in mind. Thanks to their modular system, these flexible grippers can be used with any shape of object and any type of robot. They are made up of multiple components: flange adapter, base, fingers, extender and suction cup.
A flange adapter is required to mount the clamp on the robot. Adapters are available for all robots on the market.
The shape of the object to be gripped determines the base, which is an essential part of the gripper. A circular object needs a centered base, a long object a parallel base.
Various types of base with a variable number of fingers and different angles are available. For special applications, the angle of the fingers and the size of the base can be specially adapted to your needs.
Fingers are the heart of these pliers. They adapt to the shape of any object without damaging its surface. The main advantages are low weight, speed and the ability to work with all kinds of food. Service life is guaranteed over 10 million cycles at 1 bar pressure.
Suction cups can be used to support the fingers. This is particularly useful when picking up bins, or when you need additional stabilization of the object. For greater precision, and to prevent goods from sliding upwards, spacers can be used in place of the suction cup. The holder can also be used for other tools.
What's more, thanks to their inherently superior hygienic design, cleaning is particularly easy. For special applications, such as handling raw or prepared meat, fish or bakery products, SoftGripper bases are available with a special FDA-certified coating. This means that the gripper can be cleaned in a machine or by applying cleaning solutions.
Thanks to their modular capacity, SoftGrippers enable high-speed application. Lightweight, fast and reliable, our grippers get a good, secure grip on an object, even if it's irregularly shaped, packed, bagged or slippery.
High-speed handling of food and goods requires appropriately sized pneumatic valves, making the system suitable for the fastest delta robots on the market.
Robots operate at low speed and slow acceleration, with a low load capacity. They ensure safety when working with humans. These SoftGrippers are considered by the company to be the safest work tools imagined.
The grippers can be controlled using your own pneumatic system, or by choosing a Controlbox. Integration of their Controlbox is easy with any robot. For Universal robots, the company supplies an additional UR cap for quick and easy installation.
If compressed air is not available, Nomad Robotics offers a Controlbox with an integrated pump for Cobot applications.
