The fortieth edition of MIDEST, the world's number one industrial subcontracting trade fair, which took place from November 2 to 5, reflected the current economic context well, posting figures that are significantly higher than last year. The event thus recorded an increase of 3% of its surface areas, of 1.5% of its exhibitors and of 1.8% of its visitors.
There were many highlights, from the inauguration of MIDEST by Christian Estrosi, Minister in charge of Industry, accompanied by Jean-Claude Volot, Mediator of industrial inter-company relations and subcontracting, to the celebrations surrounding the fortieth anniversary of the event, through the many events that punctuated the four days.
On the occasion of its fortieth anniversary, MIDEST 2010 had to offer even more activities to its exhibitors and visitors.
A brochure retracing the history of the show was available free of charge at the entrances, based on numerous testimonials and some industrial chronological references. About fifteen special Trophies were also awarded on November 3 to companies present since the beginning and remained faithful to MIDEST during a great evening, after a round table bringing together big names from the world of industry on the theme "Under -treatment 2020: developments and opportunities ”. Yvon Jacob, Industry Ambassador, Jean-Claude Volot, Mediator of industrial inter-company relations and subcontracting, Jérôme Frantz, President of the Federation of Mechanical Industries, Bruno Estienne, President of the Federation of Plastics, Guy Métral, President of the Haute-Savoie Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Jean-Claude Monier, President of MIDEST and CENAST (National Center for Sub-Traitance) thus debated with passion and optimism the future of sector.
For their fifth edition, the MIDEST Trophies allowed professionals to discover a dozen winning exhibitors with remarkable performances and assets across five main categories: Design office (ALOATEC), Innovation (BELMEKO, CODICA CABLES TRANSMISSIONS, COFICE SAS , DSI PLASTICS, FTV RDO ALPHA), International (BARON), Organization (GARDETTE INDUSTRIE, GIE TEGMA) and Exemplary achievements (ADDIX SAS, ARS, FONDERIE VINCENT).
Led by experts from CETIM (Technical Center for Mechanical Industries), CTIF (Development Center for Materials Shaping Industries - Foundry) and LRCCP (Laboratory for Research and Control of Rubber and Plastics), the Poles Technological provided visitors with valuable information on innovative techniques and processes.
Finally, MIDEST was the opportunity to officially launch EMERGENCE INDUSTRIE , the Moroccan event which will take place from May 17 to 20, 2011 at the Parc des Expositions de Casablanca (OFEC), with the aim of becoming THE unmissable annual meeting of the industry in this country. It will bring together SISTEP MIDEST, the only Moroccan trade show dedicated to industrial subcontracting, and MIMA, a complementary creation, international exhibition of Machines, equipment and services for Industry in this country.
MAINTENANCE EXPO , a show for all maintenance solutions, which was held jointly, for its part, showed a stable visitor numbers. More than 3,000 professionals came to meet the exhibitors and 6,000 MIDEST visitors took advantage of their trip to discover the maintenance offer essential to their activity.
