With a substantial increase in the number of visitors (4803 compared to 2300 last year), Mesurexpovision achieved the very ambitious targets set by its organizer (GL Events). The Metrology Congress, also organized by GL Events with the Collège français de Métrologie, at the same venue (Paris Porte de Versailles) and on the same dates (October 4 to 6), was also a great success, with 750 participants.
Mesurexpovision will have recovered well from its split with CIEN (Carrefour de l'Industrie Electronique et Numérique), which has a strong electronic measurement section (basically, Simtec members). We recall that CIEN explained the split by the fact that it preferred to be held in Paris intra-muros (Porte de Versailles instead of Paris Nord Villepinte) and in June (to avoid proximity with Electronica/Productronica, the major German electronics show, which takes place in November). But the last CIEN was a failure in terms of attendance. The organizers have drawn the necessary conclusions, and have decided to join forces again with MesureExpovision, which will provide a major platform for the measurement sector (although it will still be missing the life sciences and process measurement sectors, which have their own shows, Forum Labo and Analyse Industrielle, respectively).
When Mesurexpovision moved from Paris Nord Villepinte to Porte de Versailles in 2010, it was clear that it had done its part to bring CIEN and Mesurexpovision together again. It's now a done deal: the next edition of Mesurexpovision and CIEN will take place from October 24 to 26, 2012 at Paris Porte de Versailles.
