In keeping with its commitment to innovation, DIAXYS today presents its new generation of wireless products. DIAXYS announces the upcoming release of its DXRFLOG wireless recorders.
The major new features of this new range are its operating mode, the security of transmitted data and the openness of its protocol.
3 operating modes: supervision, datalogger or automatic
The DXLOG integrates 3 operating modes:
- Supervision" mode: measurements are taken periodically and immediately transmitted to the supervision system. The measurement period can be set from 6s to 12h.
- Datalogger" mode: measurements are stored in the DXLOG's internal memory, pending remote reading. The recording period can be set from 6s to 12h.
- Automatic" mode: as in "supervision" mode, measurements are sent periodically to the coordinator, but the DXLOG automatically switches to "Datalogger" mode if the radio-frequency link with the coordinator is lost.
Two-way radio frequency communication
The DXLOG has the special feature of being able to communicate bidirectionally (it can both send its data and receive commands from the supervisor), which means that all its operating parameters can be modified remotely, and without manual intervention on the product. Here are the main ones:
- measurement period: measurements are taken and recorded according to this period.
- the radio-frequency link period: this is the DXLOG's "heartbeat". The DXLOG periodically sends a radio-frequency link to inform the supervisor of its operating status, and also to retrieve pending commands from the coordinator (to optimize its autonomy, the DXLOG is not always listening).
The period for sending this radio link can be set between 6s and 12h.
- operating mode: Supervision / Datalogger / Automatic
- triggering the transfer of data stored in the "Datalogger" memory.
This feature considerably extends the DXLOG's range of applications, since it allows specific operating cycles to be programmed, such as supervision during the day / datalogger at night, automatic datalogger recovery every Monday morning, increasing the number of measurement points over a given period, etc...
Data protection with Recovery mode
The reliability of a wireless network is closely linked to the environment in which the equipment is installed, and this environment is often subject to change over time: it's not uncommon for frames to be lost due to local obstacles disrupting the path of radio frequency waves.
For this reason, the DXLOG incorporates a buffer memory (known as "Recovery Memory") which allows measurements to be saved until they are received by the coordinator; they are then automatically transferred to the coordinator when the radio link is effective again.
To avoid saturating the network, Recovery mode is limited to 50 lost frames. Beyond that, the DXLOG automatically switches to datalogger operation ("Automatic" mode), requiring an explicit request from the supervisor to recover the data.
Lockable keypad
The DXLOG features 3 buttons for easy configuration of operating parameters. However, to prevent unauthorized changes, the keypad can be locked and unlocked by a password.
Easy to integrate on a PLC or PC
The G3 coordinator retrieves values transmitted or recorded by the DXLOG using the Modbus RTU communication protocol. This completely open, standardized protocol makes it easy to integrate the solution with a PC, PLC, BMS or BMS system. All DXLOG functions are accessible via the standard Modbus 3, 4 and 16 functions available in all Modbus-enabled PLCs.
About Diaxys: Diaxys is a young French company specializing in measurement applications using radio transmission. It offers complete solutions from sensor to supervision, with radio communication gateways at the core. Target applications are diverse and varied: monitoring of environmental conditions in buildings, monitoring of civil engineering structures (dams, bridges, locks, etc.), instrumentation of isolated industrial equipment for remote monitoring, monitoring of fluids and energy in buildings, etc.
