National Instruments announces six new PXI products at Productronica, including a real-time on-board controller, PXI Express system extension modules and high-speed data storage products for data streaming to and from hard drives. These announcements follow the launch of more than 40 other NI PXI products this year and further expand PXI's capabilities for various industries. With so many new products, NI confirms its position as a leader in innovation in a steadily growing global PXI market.
The new NI PXIe-8100 real-time onboard controller integrates the Intel® Atom D410 processor and is designed specifically for the deployment of on-board real-time measurement and control/control applications. By using this new controller with the NI LabVIEW system design environment, engineers can become more efficient in a wide range of test, measurement and control/control applications.
Ni PXIe-8364 and 8374 modules are the first PXI Express remote control products to enable the direct interfacing of multiple PXI Express chassis with a single host computer in any expansion topology, without resorting to complex custom solutions. The simplified interconnectivity of these modules and their PXI-based architecture increase the system's design efficiency and overall performance in a wide range of multi-track data acquisition and high-speed auto-testing applications, including semiconductor testing and RF.
NI also announces upgrades to its RAID (independent disk redundant network) systems for high-speed data recording and playback, RF testing and data acquisition with large numbers of channels, including a new 24TB option for the NI HDD-8265 high-speed data storage module. These new options allow engineers to reach 13 hours of uninterrupted real-time data streaming over 100 MHz of bandwidth. For advanced applications of ROEM (electromagnetic intelligence) and COMINT (radio listening), it is possible to combine four NI HDD-8265 modules in a single PXI Express chassis to achieve data streaming speeds of up to 2.8GB per second. New options for NI RAID systems include 3TB HDD and 1TB SSD versions of the RAID 8260 chassis module.
All these new products further extend an already very comprehensive PXI platform that currently has more than 450 different PXI products. Engineers and scientists can combine and combine a wide range of NI PXI products and control their entire system with LabVIEW software, allowing them to take on any engineering challenge presented to them.
