Honeywell announces that it has acquired Saia Burgess Controls,which until now was owned by Johnson Electric,which is headquartered in Hong Kong. The transaction, which will be effective at the end of January, is $130 million.
With this acquisition, Honeywell is strengthening its building automation division, particularly in Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
Saia Burgess Controls specialises in infrastructure control and energy management (including ventilation/air conditioning). It offers programmable automatons, control screens and counters.
Saia Burguess Controls sales for the last fiscal year (ended March 31) were $93 million, for a workforce of 300 people. The company will be integrated intoHoneywell'sEnvironmental and Combustion Controls (ECC) division, where it will be joined by other well-known brands in building automation, including Alerton, Centraline, E-MON, Trend, Novar Controls, Phoenix Controls and Tridium. Honeywell ECC equips approximately 150 million homes and more than 10 million commercial and industrial establishments worldwide.
