Invensys, the benchmark supplier of innovative industrial software, systems and control devices for leading international companies, unveils its next-generation process automation system. With powerful tools and applications running on a high-performance, fault-tolerant hardware platform with native cybersecurity, and incorporating the world's first Triconex safety automation system developed by Invensys, the Foxboro Evo process automation system has been designed to improve operational knowledge and integrity.
"The three most important features a supplier of process automation software can provide to enable its customers to secure their future: protect the operational integrity of their plants, enhance the operational knowledge of their teams, and enable them to adapt easily to change at lower cost," said Gary Freburger, president of Invensys systems business. "Our new Foxboro Evo system includes these capabilities with unrivalled efficiency. With more powerful processing capability and innovative as well as advanced applications, the system enables our customers to discover new capabilities in their business. This is yet another breakthrough in automation from a company that has been driving major technological advances for over a hundred years. We are very excited about the progress this represents for the industry and our customers, whom we wish to continue to support in the pursuit of their short- and long-term operational and professional goals."
The Foxboro Evo process automation system is directly inspired by the pioneering Foxboro I/A Series system and Triconex technology, both of which have been selected by major users to control and protect some of the world's largest and most complex production units, where they are renowned for their innovative, layered architecture. The system extends its approach via an object-oriented platform which can support major evolutions without requiring downtime.
The Foxboro Evo system includes a new high-performance process controller, field instrument management tools, a maintenance response center, a company-sized history tool with 1-n redundancy and enhanced cybersecurity.
