In a tense economic context, the Midest, which held its 44th edition from 4 to 7 November at the Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte, was a real success. While it displayed a remarkable stability of its exhibition surfaces and the number of its exhibitors at the opening, with 1,678 companies from 45 countries, roughly the same number as last year, 41,048 professionals from all industrial sectors and 78 nations came to meet them.

Many high-quality visitors

The good health of an event like Midest is a testament to both the dynamism of the subcontractors and the motivation of their professional and consular representatives to bring them together and promote their know-how. This year,1678 subcontractors from 45 countries, roughly the same number as last year, were brought together by the show. In detail, French subcontracting remains the main offer with 61% of exhibitors, or 1,016 companies. On the international side, all of Midest's foreign partners brought together 662 companies, reinforcing the global representation of this event.

On the visitors' side, the show still shows remarkable stability with a slight decrease in audience of 2.5% compared to last year and an increase of 4% compared to 2012: 41,048 professionals from 78 countries came to meet the exhibitors, projects, including 17% of foreigners (up 2% compared to 2013) from 78 countries, with the top 5 of their origins Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany and Tunisia.

Many highlights and events

In addition to its primary role as a meeting accelerator and business generator, Midest accompanies exhibitors and visitors in the major developments in the global industry. This year, he focused on the world's most dynamic industrial sector, aeronautics, and on a technology that is growing in scope, additive manufacturing or "3D printing" through several conferences and TV sets.
Other firsts: the honouring of a nation of North Africa, Tunisia, and Normandy, through two large exhibition spaces.
A new animation was a real success: the "Destination Plasturgie MAJOR" truck of the Federation of Plasturgie and Composites made many demonstrations of the main technologies at work in this sector. Also of note: the invitation of the guidance counsellors of the schools of France by the FIM to discover directly on the show the richness of the mechanical trades on its brand new "Place of Mechanics".

The fair has also been the scene of several conferences offering the audience a panorama of the latest developments in the sector. A total of 917 people attended these speeches and the flash conferences hosted by Cetim.

Finally, the show presented the new edition of Midest Maroc, the industrial event in this country, which will take place in Casablanca from 10 to 13 December around six major sectors: subcontracting, machine tools, sheet metal, electronics, plastics and services.

See you from November 17 to 20, 2015 for the next editions of Midest and Maintenance Expo, which will be held jointly at Tolexpo, the international exhibition of production equipment for the work of sheet and reel metals, tubes and profiles.
