RS Components launches RS brand's first 3D printer. RS's IdeaWerk 3D printer has features that allow for professional use, including exceptional print speeds for only 736.77 euros, 30% cheaper than other printers in the same category.
Aiming at a large community of users, including electronics and mechanical engineers, hobbyists and trainers, all involved in product design and prototyping, RS's new 3D IdeaWerk printer joins the many rapid prototyping machines already available at RS. This range of machines includes other affordable 3D printers from the 3D Systems, MakerBot, Ultimaker, Beeverycreative and RepRapPro brands.
The PLA material used is environmentally friendly. It is non-toxic and chemically inert. It does not give off any unpleasant odour. This material is thus suitable for domestic and industrial use. In addition, the machine is quiet, allowing it to be installed in an office or classroom.
Designed to create complex and robust prints, IdeaWerk is easy to assemble and use. Its reasonable dimensions (211 x 403 x 298 mm) and its weight of only 7.5 kg makes it possible to consider easy transport. The new IdeaWerk uses FDM technology (molten wire deposition modeling) and has high-level features including a print volume of 150 x 150 x 140 mm and a print resolution of 0.18 mm. Its single-head extrusion system works with 1.75 mm PLA filament coils also available at RS, in many colors.
Equipped with a USB port and an SD card holder, it can operate in stand-alone mode or with a computer. It is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems including XP, Vista, 7 and 8/8.1, with no additional software or accessories.
RS's 3D IdeaWerk printer is available from RS throughout the EMEA region and the Asia-Pacific region.
