SKF announced the development of a new generation of motor encoder module, capable of delivering precise signals to the controller even in the harsh electromagnetic environment of an AC induction motor.
This signal provides reliable motor control by monitoring shaft speed and direction. With this integrated solution, the end user benefits from longer service life, increased reliability and reduced sensor bearing maintenance costs.
This new sensor bearing features a Faraday cage effect serving as a physical shield against external magnetic fields and a built-in EMI (anti-electromagnetic interference) filter to protect against transient overvoltages and electrostatic discharges.
François Niarfeix, Head of SKF Product Development Program , comments: “ This new generation SKF motor encoder module meets future market demands. By combining all of SKF's skills, we have succeeded in providing a reliable sensor bearing that can be used in different environments. The result, for our customers, is an economical and long-lasting product . "
Compact in design, this new generation SKF motor encoder module is easy to mount, fully interchangeable with earlier models and meets industry standards.
