28 years ago, in 1987, Cetim opened its first polymer and composite pilot workshop in Nantes. Today, the Carnot-labelled Mechanical Technology Institute inaugurates the pilot line and its patented QSP module for the industrial production of thermoplastic composite parts, at the Technocampus Composites site in Bouguenais nearNantes.
This launch is based in particular on the work carried out in the comp-Innov Openlab joint laboratory, formed with the Central School of Nantes, the University of Nantes, the National Higher School of Cachan, the CNRS. It is also a continuation of the innovations presented over the past two years.
Today, theQuilted Stratum Process(QSP) module allows the production of cost-optimized composite components in two minutes. With the Quilted Stratum Process, France now has the first automated pilot line that targets the needs of the automobile, aeronautics, and also wider applications irrigating the entire mechanical sector: agricultural machinery, handling/lifting equipment, heavy goods vehicles...
