With its PMX industrial measuring amplifier system, HBM enables the automotive industry to conduct more efficient engine testing. Two of the main advantages are immunity to the noise of measurement processes and precision of process control.
The aim is to further improve the efficiency of current and future engines so that they meet future energy efficiency standards and enable major innovations in control and manufacturing technology.
HBM Test and Measurement (HBM) has designed a precise, noise-insensitive measurement platform for test benches with the PMX measuring system to increase engine efficiency.
New filtering and scaling capabilities for torque measurement allow the system to be used accurately over a portion of the measurement range. The torquemeter can be scaled in the PMX using the very precise polynomial feature or the feature array with automatic direction of rotation detection.
HBM introduced theCASMA (Crank Angle Synchron Moving Average)filter for the PMX with a slippery average calculated according to the rotation angle. For example, this new design filter allows you to calculate the slippery average based on the angle of the vilebrequin to determine the distribution of torque according to the cylinders. The PMX generates feature sizes such as power, average value and peak value in real time, and even regulates torque with a PID regulator. The PMX measuring amplifier system and its open communication interfaces enable, together with HBM efficient torque meters, to carry out efficient testing procedures in the automotive sector.
