The number of connected objects is estimated to increase from 1.7 billion to 6.6 billion between the end of 2014 and 2020. This exponential growth will be possible thanks to ever-lower costs of sensors and intelligent hardware devices, and wireless communication and data processing. Complex IoT solutions require more sophisticated communication platforms and inter-software that simplify the seamless integration of devices and networks. In recent years, THE REPRESENTATIONal State Transfer (REST) architecture has emerged as the primary type of design for web-based services. The REST architecture is simple and light. The most well-known implementation of the REST design is none other than HTTP, the protocol on which the World Wide Web is based. RESTful web customers and servers implemented on HTTP can take advantage of the existing infrastructure on which the Web is based.

With its WISE-4000 series, Advantech offers a cost-effective wireless cable solution for cloud applications, supporting direct cloud access, new web services and data recorder features. It is integrated with HTML5, JavaScript and the RESTful Web service, meeting the needs of web-based computing technology.

It thus opens the way to new markets. The WISE-4000 series is aimed not only at automation system integrators, but also at system integrators with high-level computer programming skills. Cloud file storage and data recording features allow you to access data anytime, anywhere. Users will no longer have to worry about data collection in the data recorder or gateway. The WISE-4000 series offers data division, data logic and data recorder functions.

Direct cloud access and direct access to mobile devices make it easier to access data. With 3-tier security, this data can be stored, accessed and published more securely.

Advantech WebAccess is a browser-based software suite designed to automate complex IoT applications at distributed controller application production sites in water/wastewater, gas and petroleum energy distribution, and environmental applications in industrial sites and smart buildings. You'll find all the features of conventional HMI and SCADA software packages in WebAccess, including animated graphics displays, real-time data control, trends, alarms and logs. WebAccess communicates with automation equipment and supports more than 200 different industrial communication protocols. It displays and stores data in real time, and provides operators with controlled mobile access to change deposit points, equipment status and other parameters of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), controllers, I/S systems, RTU, DCS and DDC.
