Dassault Systèmes announces the signature of an agreement with Scania formalizing the deployment process for its 3DEXPERIENCE platform and other solutions, for current and future innovation programs.
The aim of this cooperation is to facilitate the cost-effective design, testing and validation of Scania's comprehensive range of high-quality modular products. It will improve the realistic simulation of functional properties and processes such as engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and sales. Scania will be able to supply its customers with the right products of optimum quality, thanks to a more resource-efficient and cost-optimized product development process.
" With its renowned modular system, Scania is able to produce countless variants of its products and constantly modify their design.says Michael Thel, Scania's Director of Engineering. This approach requires a comprehensive repository of designs that can be combined to create applications tailored to the customer's choice. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform will enable us to improve simulation operations and accelerate the validation of our vehicles. It will also ensure complete traceability and digital continuity between design and manufacturing, at all stages of our virtual product development processes. ".
" I'm convinced that our 3DEXPERIENCE vision, which goes far beyond the product design methodology usually used by the industry, played a key role in formulating the approach taken to meet Scania's needs.says Olivier Sappin, Vice-President, Transportation & Mobility Industry, Dassault Systèmes. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform and Modular Glocal & Secure solution provide the digital continuity required to accelerate innovation, improve product quality and performance, and reduce costs in a context of mass complexity and customization. Scania will benefit from these advantages throughout its value chain ".
