New building brings sales center closer to customers
To improve customer support for the Portuguese market, Endress+Hauser has invested 800,000 euros in the construction of a sales office building near the capital Lisbon. The Group has been present in Portugal since 2002 through its own sales subsidiary.
Endress+Hauser has acquired and extensively modernized a two-storey building in Palmela. The new facilities offer a total surface area of 820 square meters. The building has been completed with modern meeting rooms and a new auditorium, including an exhibition reflecting Endress+Hauser's complete offering. A new annex houses a calibration center and warehouse. Customers will also benefit from the transparency brought by full integration into the Group's enterprise software network.
The new building was inaugurated on April 20, 2018 in the presence of numerous guests and customers. "We have been operating successfully in Portugal for almost two decades. Investing in new facilities demonstrates our continued commitment and belief in the Portuguese market," says John Salusbury, Sales Director. Also present were Klaus Endress, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Matthias Altendorf, CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group.
Endress+Hauser Portugal's 19 employees, with extensive expertise in measurement and automation technology, provide sales and customer support throughout the country. Key industries include food & beverage, chemicals and water/wastewater, in addition to the fast-growing life sciences sector. "We have recently moved closer to our customers, expanded our service offering and reorganized the team to match skills and knowledge," explains Managing Director Paulo Loureiro.
The reorientation was positively received by the market. Endress+Hauser Portugal has seen a 40 % increase in sales over the last five years. "We want to build on this momentum for the future," Paulo Loureiro emphasizes. "The new facilities will enable us to improve customer support for all industries, providing a foundation for the continuation of our growth strategy."
