The Picomag flowmeter combines outstanding functionality with solid design
With its Picomag flowmeter, Endress+Hauser impressed the jury at the Red Dot Design Awards and received the Red Dot seal of approval in the product design category. The intelligent "plug-and-play" instrument also scored points thanks to its outstanding functionality and solid design.
The Red Dot is an internationally recognized award for products that stand out for their high-quality design and optimum response to customer needs. "We are delighted that the Picomag convinced the jury with its compact format, flexible installation options and intuitive operation," says Dr. Bernd-Josef Schäfer, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser Flowtec, the Group's competence center for flow measurement technology based in Reinach, Switzerland.
Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the Red Dot Award, congratulated Endress+Hauser: "The winning products are marked by outstanding functionality and attractive appearance, proving that the designers have understood their customers". Among other things, products are judged on their level of innovation, functionality, design quality, ergonomics and durability. A jury of some forty people selected the winners from the 6,300 items submitted for consideration.
Pocket-sized flow measurement technology
In the field of industrial process measurement and automation, the demand for simple, reliable and maintenance-free measuring instruments in pocket format is constantly increasing. Endress+Hauser's new Picomag meets these requirements, and can be deployed in all sectors of activity. It measures not only flow in electrically conductive fluids, but also process temperature.
What's more, the Picomag allows customers to easily commission the device via Bluetooth using its SmartBlue App, as well as simple system integration thanks to IO-Link technology.
