PTC acquires pure-systems

PTC has announced the acquisition of pure-systems, a leading provider of software and product variant management solutions. Manufacturing companies use pure-systems' pure::variants solution to efficiently manage the different software variants and systems engineering elements in their product configurations. 

Prior to this acquisition, PTC and pure-systems had already been working closely together. The pure::variants tool is already integrated and complements Codebeamer, PTC's application lifecycle management (ALM) solution. It also reinforces Windchill, PTC's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. The addition of pure-systems' technologies should enable PTC to strengthen its leadership position in the fast-growing ALM market, stimulate market growth, and develop and consolidate relationships with customers from highly regulated sectors including automotive, aerospace and medical device manufacturers, who are increasingly integrating software components into their product designs.
