Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division announces the launch of the CADWorx Electrical & Instrumentation software suite. CADWorx Electrical & Instrumentation is designed to meet the challenges of industrial installations and players in the power generation, transmission and distribution sectors, enabling them to optimize workflows, easily obtain reliable deliverables and simplify collaborative working.
The CADWorx Electrical & Instrumentation software suite comprises three modules: CADWorx Electrical, CADWorx Instrumentation and CADWorx Raceway. These modules enable multiple data flows to be incorporated into design work, and facilitate the creation of intelligent documentation. They interface with complementary solutions for piping and structures, forming a set of tools that cover all industrial project needs.
CADWorx Electrical: intelligent, effortless 2D schematic creation
CADWorx Electrical enables engineers to automate schematic creation and easily produce complete deliverables, detailed reports and wiring diagrams to speed up project completion. The software also features an extensive symbol library and intelligent data flow integration to ensure design accuracy.
CADWorx Instrumentation: efficient management of instrumentation data
CADWorx Instrumentation offers automated production of instrumentation documents and easy management of instrument BOMs, tags and data sheets, simplifying follow-up throughout all phases of the project. Data integration reduces errors and eliminates redundant tasks, saving design time and resources.
CADWorx Raceway: 3D modeling and automated cable routing
CADWorx Raceway optimizes and automates the modeling of cable trays and conduits. Intelligent features include conflict detection to avoid collisions, save space and simplify installation, all in a precise, detailed 3D visual environment.
Combining these functions in a single software suite enables synchronization between 3D models and schematics, including wiring diagrams. The suite integrates with the CADWorx P&ID database and enables bidirectional links via Excel.
In addition, the software suite capitalizes on the recent partnership between Hexagon and Scada Systems. It is fully integrated with the AutoCAD and BricsCAD platforms, offering engineers a new level of accessibility and functionality.
Finally, users can choose between Microsoft Access or MS SQL Server to preserve data consistency and streamline change management. These integrations promote design accuracy and cross-team collaboration.
Wally Elarusi, CADWorx Product Manager, said: "In the fields of electricity and industrial instrumentation, precision design is essential and has direct effects on safety, profitability and operational excellence. That's why Hexagon develops fully integrated solutions that meet the challenges of every design stage, simplify collaboration and set companies on the path to sustainable success."
