The SCOPIX IV portable oscilloscope is a complete field diagnostic device, particularly for the automotive industry. The 2 or 4 isolated channels (depending on the model) and secured to ground, its ability to save recorded measurements, its specific possible configurations and its reference signals meet every application. The physical analysis of data buses on SCOPIX IV is simple and convenient. The operator selects the bus mode, the bus type and its standard. The connection is facilitated by the automatic schematic and diagnostic interface.
The functionality CAN bus of the SCOPIX visualizes the shape of the signal to identify the good communication with one or several ECUs of the vehicle. The quality of the signal, whether it is correct or not, can be identified. The operator can also determine if an ECU is simply isolated from the bus by a break in the electrical harness or a signal failure.
The calculations of the physical/electrical parameters of the CAN bus are integrated into SCOPIX which establishes a diagnosis of conformity to the associated standard. These elements will lead to the expertise of the data bus.
The functionality LIN bus of the Scopix allows to visualize on the screen the transmission signal of the element to be controlled in order to know if it is operational or not and to determine if the communication is stopped because of a break of the electrical beam.

The TDC sensor, which determines the quantity of fuel injected necessary for proper engine operation, can also be controlled by the SCOPIX (engine speed value analyzed by the engine control unit, the speed being indicated in rpm).
If the engine diagnostic unit identifies possible malfunctions, the error codes do not specify whether the sensor or the electrical harness are damaged or a control unit is defective. For this, a fine and precise visualization of the signal is required and the performance of SCOPIX IV allows these expert measurements.
