Creaform, a global specialist in portable and automated 3D measurement solutions, announces the addition of Go! Scan 3D to its range of non-destructive testing technologies for the oil and gas industry.

"The Go Scanner! White light 3D scan requires less preparation time. This allows technicians to conduct pipeline inspections more quickly and reduce the time spent taking measurements. It is the ideal surface inspection tool for service companies that want to take action faster and at a lower cost. The Go! 3D Scan perfectly complements Creaform's NDT solutions offering, which includes the renowned HandyScan 3D portable scanner. HandyScan 3D remains the solution of choice for NDT integrity teams looking for high resolution, optimal accuracy or 3D scanning for large areas, says Jérôme-Alexandre Lavoie, product manager at Creaform. Both scanners represent viable solutions for pipeline inspection teams, but provide different benefits. Compared to traditional methods, such as depth gauge, our 3D scanners provide unparalleled capabilities in accuracy, reproducibility and on-site reporting. »

The Go! Scan 3D offers the same performance as the previous generation of HandyScan 3D, but allows for faster field deployment.

In addition, Creaform has released a new version of its NDT software, Pipecheck 6.0. Pipecheck 6.0 includes an additional module for fold analysis. This module will allow technicians to identify and evaluate folds on pipelines, which can have a significant long-term impact on pipe integrity and result in additional maintenance costs.

"NDT and END service companies, as well as pipeline owners, can now benefit from a module that, when used with a 3D scanner, improves the reliability of fold evaluation on pipelines," adds Jérôme-Alexandre Lavoie. It is possible to capture quality fold data faster, allowing engineering teams to make better decisions. The fold analysis module will save on overstated maintenance costs, as well as improve the efficiency of maintenance and preventative repairs. »
