ESPI and Productec announce a recent development which brings together the programming of control and production machines in the same GibbsCAM CAM environment. Users can now program all their production processes in the CAM environment with which they are familiar. Programming of the Scanflash inspection machine is now integrated into GibbsCAM CAM, making it quick and easy to learn.
"As production professionals know, choosing the most efficient machine tool is not the only solution for improving the productivity of a machining cell. Every day, they have to machine increasingly complex parts in ever-smaller batches. Increasing diversity and ever-faster turnaround times are the realities they face today. ESPI and Productec now offer them the possibility of simplifying and minimizing set-up times, so they can make more chips with the same opening time! ESPI and Productec, pioneers in their field, are combining their know-how to create the link between GibbsCAM CAM, machine-tool set-up and control measurements".say the manufacturers.
Scanflash inspection machines are installed at the foot of machine tools on the shop floor, providing measurement results and the corrections that depend on them in record time, at the pace of machining cycles. By programming Scanflash directly in the GibbsCAM CAM environment, it is now possible to reduce the overall time needed to industrialize a new part.
Moving from a new design in the engineering office to the manufacture of parts in the shortest possible time requires smooth implementation at every stage, from machine tool programming to production set-up, thus ensuring the fluidity of digital data. With GibbsCAM CAM at the heart of the manufacturing process, the machine tool programmer, in the programming environment with which he is familiar, can define the elements to be controlled for optimal machine set-up. He thus has at his disposal all the tools needed to guarantee the capability and efficiency of the machining process.
