With improved multi-core processing, Artec 3D launches Artec Leo 2022 with twice the power and even higher accuracy.

Artec 3D, a world-renowned publisher and manufacturer of professional 3D hardware and software, today announced the availability of Artec Leo 2022, a fully wireless portable 3D scanner with an integrated touchscreen. With New Leo features, users can now count on guaranteed accuracy, increased power, improved vivid color acquisition, and a multilingual interface.

" Artec Leo was the first AI-powered wireless 3D scanner available on the market, making it truly revolutionary," said Artyom Yukhin, President and CEO of Artec 3D. We have gone even further to ensure that everyone using Artec Leo 2022 is confident in delivering high-level professional results with guaranteed accuracy and sharper data. We have improved the scanner so that each user has a smooth experience to achieve the desired results quickly and easily, and in their native language. »

Boosted power and improved treatment

Artec Leo's new 2022 NVidia Jetson TX2 processor runs at twice the power of its predecessor, while using less than 7.5 watts. It also features enhanced multi-core processing with the NVidia Denver 2, which adds two cores and even more power to what is now a heterogeneous multiprocessor architecture, with 2Ghz on each of the six cores. The Leo 2022 also offers a new 3D scanning experience thanks to an updated user interface and an easier-to-use screen.

And thanks to improvements to every crucial element of AI — GPU performance, power efficiency, deep learning libraries, and memory bandwidth — Leo benefits from the TX2's dual intelligence. " The TX2 allows us to apply more AI-powered algorithms and processes directly into the scanner," says Gleb Gusev, CTO at Artec 3D . With this technology, users will get even faster and more accurate results, and an even more intuitive automated workflow. »

Enhanced accuracy

The Leo 2022 3D scanner offers guaranteed accuracy, so that users systematically produce high-level professional metrological results. Accuracy is ensured with a new calibration certificate. To test Leo's accuracy, each scanner is calibrated with highly accurate reference objects in different positions and in the scanner's working volume, using different parts of the scanner's sensor at different distances. This ensures that each scanner provides flawless accuracy.

Artec Leo 2022 offers guaranteed accuracy, so that users systematically produce high-level professional metrological results. Accuracy is ensured with a new calibration certificate. To test Leo's accuracy, each scanner is calibrated with highly accurate reference objects in different positions using different parts of the scanner's sensor at different distances. This is the guarantee that each scanner provides flawless accuracy.

A calibration kit has also been introduced for the Leo 2022. Users can now autonomously check the accuracy of the scanner and adjust its parameters. Operating conditions can vary significantly, so this kit will allow users to periodically test and adjust the device for their specific environment. Leo's calibration kit is currently available for pre-order and will be fully available in April 2022.

The new automatic temperature control feature now allows the scanner to regulate its operation and keep its components at an optimal working temperature. This provides certainty that the metrological apparatus is not affected by internal or external temperature changes that might otherwise have subtle effects on readings. Thus, users can be certain that the scanner works with maximum accuracy.

Superior color capture and multilingual interface

Building on the scanner's advanced color capture capabilities, the Leo 2022 has algorithms that automatically adjust the brightness level during scanning, producing realistic, evenly lit color 3D models without the need for manual correction. What's more, the new texture optimization algorithm divides the texture size by 2, which speeds up data processing and loading to create color 3D models.

Finally, to make the Leo 2022 accessible to professionals around the world, the scanner interface is now available in six languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.
