SGS announces the acquisition of AIEX based in Cherbourg, France and thus strengthens its offer dedicated to the nuclear energy sector.
Founded in 1998, AIEX mainly carries out technical inspections and welding for the naval and nuclear industry.
The company employs 28 qualified professionals and generated a turnover of nearly €2.9 million in 2021.
" The acquisition of AIEX complements our existing offering to support the development of renewable and decarbonised energy ," said Frankie NG, CEO of SGS.
AIEX joins the SGS Group's 2,800 employees in France. Alain Guy, Managing Director of SGS France said: "I am delighted to welcome the AIEX teams. Their know-how and expertise will strengthen our ability to support the revival of the nuclear market in France. We were already involved in monitoring and non-destructive testing on the integrity of facilities as well as in the certification of suppliers to the nuclear and naval industry. This acquisition allows us to expand our range of services in order to support manufacturers in their major projects in terms of control, inspection or surveillance. »
