In a continuous improvement of the quality requirements of its products, the French plastic injection company Francia, located in Bellignat (01), has equipped itself with the latest Zeiss X-ray technology and thus welcomed the Zeiss Metrotom 1 in its premises in spring 2022.
Established for more than 100 years in the plastics valley, Francia has undergone numerous industrial transformations towards the digitalization era. Characterized by expertise and versatility, its plant is the very image of Industry 4.0 thanks to its continuous acquisition of high-performance and innovative technologies. The arrival of the Zeiss Metrotom 1 confirms that Francia has entered a new dimension: that of non-destructive internal inspection.
The Zeiss Metrotom 1 is the ideal device to improve its quality inspection range using industrial computed tomography. It comes with the Gom volume inspect operating and inspection software, which simplifies the evaluation of plastic metrology parts. Compact, complete and easy to use, this tomograph allows precise measurements and a quick return on investment.
Technical specifications:
- X-ray sources: 160kV
- X-ray detector: 2.5 k
- Metrological requirements (MPE SD): < 5µm
- Software: Gom Volume Inspect (included)
Fields of application: non-destructive testing, simultaneous scanning of several parts.
Inspection functions: measurement of internal and external structures, inspection of internal defects such as shrinkage.
With a view to sustaining its growth, Francia, which already had a Metrotom virtual license and a Zeiss PiWeb software license for monitoring quality data, is proving its continued ability to invest by adding this Zeiss X-ray tomography solution to its fleet.
Ivan Audouard, President of Francia: " Winner of France Relance, we have chosen to equip ourselves with the Zeiss Metrotom 1, thus continuing our close collaboration with Zeiss. This investment allows us to go one step further in our search for performance. Indeed, in addition to saving time on the metrology part, especially during our developments, our teams now have the possibility to analyze the invisible and the inaccessible! "
