With the goal of enabling service providers NDT deliver high value-added services and industrial asset owners to make the best maintenance decisions, Creaform is launching a new NDT comprehensive software platform that eliminates interpretation of the equation.

Creaform, a business unit of Ametek, Inc. and a global leader in engineering and services, today announced the launch of VXintegrity, an incredible 3D scanning solution for surface damage assessment. Designed specifically to address the challenges faced by industrial asset owners and NDT service providers, this new software platform contains four different modules, which can tackle all types of surface analysis, as well as simple metrology applications.

By measuring 80 times faster than manual measurement tools, the new VXintegrity software platform, combined with Creaform's 3D scanners, is the ideal solution to the current shortage of experienced technicians and aging and/or damaged infrastructure. In addition, this user-independent technology requires little training and certification, meaning technicians can get up and running faster than with other techniques.

This NDT comprehensive solution also gives industrial asset owners full confidence in assessment results and make the best maintenance decisions, thanks to the best available data, as it can accurately measure thickness loss on complex, industrial and corroded geometries such as elbows, nozzles, pressure vessel heads, tank bottoms and valves. With this software platform, a complete analysis of all surface types is now possible.

The VXintegrity software platform brings together four modules with different applications that are specialized and optimized for specific industry challenges:

  •       Pipeline module (also called Pipecheck): The NDT safest solution for pipeline integrity assessment, this module is designed to provide corrosion, sinking (mechanical damage) and fold analysis.
  •       Aerospace Module (also known as SmartDent 3D): Ideal for the aerospace industry and MRO companies, this versatile 3D scanning solution offers unparalleled speed, ease of use, reliability and repeatability. Hail damage inspection, flap and spoiler maintenance, aviation incident analysis and planned regulatory maintenance: this module can do it all.
  •       New module for surface damage: Specially created for owners of heavy industry and power generation, this module represents the only NDT accurate and traceable method for assessing surface damage on complex geometries of all shapes, sizes and compositions.
  •       New Monitoring Module: With a micron guarantee, this monitoring solution is an extremely accurate and noise-free NDT method used to compare damage progression over time, strain analyses, and other simple metrology applications. With impressive reporting capability, this module is the best way to ensure the integrity and security of an infrastructure.

"The metrological-grade 3D data generated by this software platform can accurately identify small thickness variations between inspections in order to compare damage progression over time, making it the best, and only, sensitive technique on the market to do so," said François Lachance, Product Manager at Creaform. "In addition, these four industry-optimized modules are sure to create new business opportunities for NDT service providers."
