The Sites group, committed to the sustainability of sensitive infrastructures and equipment, has added to its expertise in vibration, acoustics and signal processing with the acquisition of the French VibraTec group and its three companies: VibraTec, VibraTeam and MicrodB.
An independent specialist in structural health monitoring, ETI Sites is an engineering company dedicated to ensuring the durability of exceptional structural assets in the face of aging, use and operation. With more than 10,000 structures monitored in France and abroad, Sites' experts are involved throughout the lifecycle of structures and equipment in the decarbonized energy (nuclear, hydraulic, wind), road and rail transport, building and living environment sectors, to maintain high levels of safety and availability.
On May 26, 2023, Sites acquired the VibraTec Group, an internationally recognized leader in vibration and acoustic engineering for the mobility, energy and manufacturing industries.
Excessive vibration can lead to accelerated ageing of components and systems, or generate noise pollution. VibraTec intervenes throughout the life cycle of structures to avoid, reduce, identify and characterize sources of noise and vibration in structures, machines and environments. With over 100 PhDs, engineers and technicians, VibraTec, headquartered in Lyon, will achieve sales of €10 million by 2022.
With the integration of VibraTec, Sites has added new skills and strengthened its expertise in the historic sectors of rail transport and infrastructures vulnerable to dynamic stress (viaducts, chimneys, pylons, cables). Together, the two companies aim to pursue their work on low-carbon transport (rail and electric mobility), ensure that wind, hydro and nuclear power plants continue to produce more and for longer, and anticipate the impact of global warming on key equipment and infrastructures (tunnels, bridges, etc.).
Two years after acquiring Cornis, a start-up specializing in technologies and artificial intelligence for wind turbine blade inspection, Sites is now expanding its range of solutions for managers of sensitive energy and mobility infrastructures and equipment with VibraTec.
"The arrival of VibraTec, with whom we share the same values, in the Sites group, strengthens our expertise and feeds our business project. We're really proud of this encounter, which will rapidly enable us to provide our customers with enhanced offers and services. The integration of VibraTec's 100 men and women experts, doctors, engineers and technicians consolidates the know-how of our respective teams, to form a group with assertive leadership and new prospects for growth".says Hervé Lançon, president of Sites.
For VibraTec, integration as a subsidiary of the Sites group is an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the low-carbon energy and defense markets.
The Sites group, headquartered in Paris, employs 500 people in France. In 2022, it achieved sales of €48 million with public and private customers (including EDF, SNCF, Eurotunnel, RATP, Vinci, Société du Grand Paris, major French cities, etc.). Each year, it devotes an average of 10 % of its budget to research and development.
