From March 29 to 31 at Paris Porte de Versailles will take place the next event JEC Composites Show which, as its name suggests, is dedicated to composite materials. At its last edition, the event attracted 27,700 visitors, 1/3 from companies specializing in composites and 2/3 from companies using these materials.
This year, the event will host the 2nd edition of I.I.C.S. (Innovative International Composites), a forum featuring conferences on non-destructive testing.
Last but not least, the "JEC PARIS INNOVATION AWARDS" awards ceremony will be held during the event. There are 14 of them:
Materials category : Cray Valley (France), for an intumescent resin and gelcoat that meets the most stringent rail track fire standards.
Bio-sourced materials categorys: Innobat (France), for a bio-sourced composite material for window frames.
Thermoplastics category : Cutting Dynamics (USA), for thermoplastic seat backs for the aeronautics industry.
Category Equipment : Advanced Composites (UK), for its Carbovar technology for composite molding tools.
Automation category : Brötje-Automation (Germany), which has designed a fully automatic machine to produce curved preforms for aircraft structures.
Process category : Sigmatex (UK), for an original offset weaving method designed to create a generic 3D woven nodal structure.
Aerospace Applications category : Latécoère (France), for an innovative aircraft structure featuring advanced sewn preforms produced using an RTM process.
Category Automotive Applications : Jacob Plastics (Germany), for its FIT Hybrid process for the production of hollow composite structures.
Category Construction : 3B Fibreglass (Belgium), for the ventilated facade covering the new Sheraton Hotel at Milan's Malpensa airport.
Civil engineering categoryl : Acciona Infraestructuras (Spain), for a composite bridge girder.
Applications in Sport & Leisure category : NRG Wheels (UK), for new carbon/magnesium wheels for high-performance vehicles.
Transport category : Roelofs Kipperbouw (Netherlands), for a composite tipper truck.
Wind Energy Category : Gamesa Innovation & Technology (Spain), for a new blade technology with a revolutionary 100 % automated manufacturing process.
JEC Magazine Special Award : MVC Componentes Plasticos (Brazil), for an internal coating to cover the new terminal building at Carrasco international airport in Montevideo (Uruguay).
