SKF announces the signing of a five-year contract worth approximately 60 million Swedish kronor (7 million euros) with LKAB, a mining company based in Malmfalten in northern Sweden, for service for machine monitoring (condition monitoring).
The contract includes machine monitoring services, vibration measurements, remote monitoring, diagnostics for the monitoring of factory machines, conveyors, pumps and fans, both on the surface and underground.
"We have been partners with LKAB for many years and this new agreement will enable us, through our condition monitoring solutions, to anticipate malfunctions and machine shutdowns," commented Vartan Vartanian, President of SKF Industrial Market, Regional Sales and Service.
LKAB refines and manufactures iron ore products for the global market. The objective of the machine monitoring activity is to reduce unplanned machine shutdowns and improve the reliability and productivity of equipment without additional investment.
