Bureau Veritas announces the acquisition of LVQ-WPa German group specializing in non-destructive testing (NDT) and industrial inspection services. This operation follows in the wake of the acquisition of Sievertalso specializing in NDT (see our news item).
Created in 1994, LVQ-WP is based in Mülheim in the Rhine-Ruhr region, a strategic industrial hub in Germany, and provides services to the electrical, manufacturing and process industries in Germany and Eastern Europe. LVQ-WP currently employs 120 people and generated sales of around €9 million in 2012.
In Europe, non-destructive testing and industrial inspection represent a market estimated at 850 million euros, with a growth rate of around 8 % per year. These services meet the growing need to maintain the integrity of aging infrastructures. The acquisition of LVQ-WP will Bureau Veritas to expand its range of services to industry in Germany and Eastern Europe.
After the acquisitions of Pockrandt (NDT), UniCar Group (automotive inspection), ECL (testing of electrical and electronic products) and 7Layers (testing of mobile electronic devices and wireless technologies), this is the fifth transaction carried out by Bureau Veritas in Germany since the beginning of 2012.
These companies have significantly strengthened the capabilities and service portfolio of Bureau Veritas on the German market, where the Group now employs 950 people.
