Bruno Lebrun is the new General Manager of Tecnatom-Metalscan in France. A specialist in non-destructive testing (NDT) for over 15 years, Bruno Lebrun was with the industrial division of Quebec-based Olympus NDT before joining Metalscan in 2011.
The former expatriate, whose knowledge of steelmaking and industrial production has greatly benefited the company, is in charge of defining Tecnatom - Metalscan's global strategy: international expansion, development of markets in the aeronautics sector (which requires large-scale NDT for ultrasonography of materials) and in the engine composites market, as well as the creation of new product portfolios.
With a view to expansion and consolidation, the company moved into new, more spacious premises (with almost 3,000 square meters) near Chalon sur Saône in April. The company's aim is to consolidate its role as a key player and service provider in ultrasonic NDT. At the heart of this challenge is the R&D department, responsible for mastering the complete chain (acoustics, mechanics, IT, electronics) from the design of a solution to the design and manufacture of ultrasonic inspection products, and for producing the most productive, robust, stable and innovative ultrasonic inspection systems.
