Eddyfi Technologies announces the release of the latest Gekko M2M fault detector.
According to the company, the Gekko, launched in 2013, has breathed new life into the market for portable ultrasonic devices. "For the first time, a multi-element TOFD offered real-time TFM technology for improved image resolution and area coverage. The modern, intuitive user interface also contributed significantly to its success.said the press release.
Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the new Gekko incorporates the latest developments in electronics, delivering improved sensitivity and image quality (better signal-to-noise ratio) while significantly extending battery life (up to 6 hours). A new high-gloss resistive touchscreen enables use with gloves on the job site. A 256 GB SSD hard disk and high-speed USB 3 port are standard, making it easy to manage data files. A Wi-Fi remote connection mode and remote system control enhance connectivity. A new LEMO IP68 connector ensures robustness and compatibility with industry scanners (up to 3 encoded axes available).
The new version 3.0 of Capture software speeds up TFM inspection with larger images and better resolution, offers an integrated "scan plan" for inspection preparation, and an optimized module for adaptive control. It also incorporates a range of new functions requested by users.
Available in different configurations (32:128 PR, 64:64 PR, 64:128 PR), the new Gekko offers solutions for a wide range of applications: weld inspection, defect characterization, inspection of corroded areas, detection of early stages of HTHA, etc. By combining the advantages of multiplexed devices, the new Gekko meets all standard multi-element procedures requiring 128 elements or several probes, and covering very large areas to be inspected. All the while offering the latest functions for TFM and expertise.
