EMC, the last subsidiary of the Emitech Group, is no stranger in the field of engine design and validation. The specialist in sustainable mobility solutions has been around since 1993. The “combustion engine tests”, the acronym for which gave the company its name, are followed by tests dedicated to electric and hybrid engines.
The Eclair bench is a realization of the EMC design office. It accommodates different types of tests intended for electrical machines included in the composition of an electrified traction chain. It is therefore intended for all types of customers, both manufacturers and equipment suppliers in the automotive field but also for other applications: aeronautics, defense, etc.
To be able to carry out these test campaigns, the e-Motor bench (Eclair bench) must be able to operate at high speed and with high torque. The EMC teams have thus succeeded in developing a test bench making it possible to reach 22,000 rpm and achieve a torque of 510 Nm. These performances are the result of a great deal of engineering work (in particular on the vibratory dimensioning) .
The e-Motor bench is used to test electrical machines and inverters in climatic environments using a climatic chamber making it possible to reproduce thermal variations which can range from -45 ° C to + 120 ° C in ambient conditions and from -30 ° C to + 120 ° C for fluids. Regarding the power supply, this bench is equipped with a high performance battery simulator: 250 kW / 1000V / 1000A.
This bench installed on the Achères site can be reserved to carry out customer testing campaigns with the testing team. EMC is also a test equipment supplier and this bench can therefore be duplicated for customers wishing to acquire in-house testing resources.
