Hexagon AB Group announces the signing of an agreement to acquire Volume Graphics, a market leader in industrial computed tomography (CT). The latter brings more than 20 years of experience in the design of software ensuring inspections and non-destructive testing.
"Volume Graphics offers an effective set of tools to leverage CT data in a wide range of applications, from defect detection and failure analysis to back design. We aspire to focus our skills to ensure our customers the highest quality in product development and production," said Ola Rollén, President and CEO of Hexagon. "In addition, industrial CT digitization is rapidly expanding as a crucial resource in the world of production, at a time when more and more sectors are using additive manufacturing. The addition of CT software features strengthens our range in this growing industry. He told us that this was not the group's preferred area and that he was looking to work with specialists in the form of partnerships rather than buyouts. Volume Graphics, the undisputed specialist in the sector, will finally be integrated into the Hexagon group subject to regulatory approvals...
