Faro has announced the acquisition of HoloBuilder in order to be more present in the market in full expansion of digital twins. HoloBuilder brings to Faro its photogrammetry-based 3D platform, which allows images to be captured, recorded and viewed independently of the hardware used. Initially focused on construction management, HoloBuilder's technology platform offers general contractors a solution to efficiently capture and virtually manage work progress using commercially available 360° cameras.
HoloBuilder's SaaS platform quickly and easily adds photographic documentation of reality, as well as remote access functionality to Faro's 3D point cloud-based laser scanning to create the industry's first end-to-end digital twin solution, all without leaving the Faro ecosystem. The combined solution will provide comprehensive scanning and image management capabilities for the digital twin market, including 3D robotic assembly simulation, construction management, facility operation and management, and incident advance planning.
"The high value that digitization brings to the AEC and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) sectors creates a significant market opportunity for Faro,"said Michael Burger, President and CEO of Faro. The addition of HoloBuilder to our offering accelerates the realization of a true end-to-end digital twin creation solution and advances our strategic goal of increasing recurring revenue through market share gains in this important and growing segment. »
"HoloBuilder and Faro together pursue a vision of digitizing the physical world to enable process automation and workflow optimization," added Mostafa AkbariHochberg, President and Founder of HoloBuilder. The powerful combination of high-precision laser scanning with real-time 360° photo capture and collaboration will provide customers of both companies with a complete solution to create digital twins. »
