Datalogic, positioned in the markets of automatic data capture and industrial automation, will present its new WebSentinel Plus Investigator software suite.

This software enhances the functionality of the WebSentinel Plus platform. It offers three key benefits for businesses in the manufacturing, transportation and logistics, and retail sectors to maximize barcode reading rates and minimize error and non-reading rates.

First, the Investigator reliably collects the data. "Indeed, users can count on the seamless ability of the WebSentinel Plus Investigator to get the most out of scanned images by processing them in a completely transparent way. When it comes to reliability, the software suite builds on datalogic's solid experience, with more than 20 years of success in capturing and decoding images. The Investigator has been developed and operates on the same basis as the WebSentinel Plus (reports, dashboards, etc.), which makes it easier for customers already familiar with the interface to learn and get started. Datalogic also offers all the necessary hardware for an optimal implementation of the Investigator. It should also be noted that it is compatible and works with the user's hardware solutions (Linux, Windows® O.S. or Windows Server),"it is said within the company.

Another strong point is that the Investigator analyzes the root cause of "non-reading". The platform saves all the data of the scanned images and allows their aggregation. Highly sophisticated vision algorithms and artificial intelligence quickly and with certainty identify the main causes of "non-reading" (damaged label, printing problem, misplaced label, label not present). With this feedback, customers can immediately implement corrective actions to prevent "non-reading" from happening again in the future. The fact that all analysis activities are carried out automatically by the Investigator saves 2 to 16 hours of work per day – 16 in the case of large production sites, which represents about 500 to 4,200 hours on an annual basis, or about €63,000 in savings per year.

Finally, the Investigator warns of problems before the situation becomes critical. They can identify critical situations and potentially problematic conditions at an early stage, before they lead to a significant increase in "non-reading" rates. The WebSentinel Plus Investigator monitors the flow of information associated with print quality and reports on barcode quality trends. Users can take advantage of a simple and fully automated way to keep track of this information to improve their productivity.
