Hexagon AB, a global specialist in digital reality solutions combining sensors, software and autonomous technologies, today announced the acquisition of ETQ. ETQ is a provider of QMS (quality management systems), EHS (environment, health and safety) and compliance management software.
ETQ customers have long relied on ETQ Reliance, a scalable multi-entity QMS solution. It provides the data backbone to automate the collection and transmission of manufacturing quality control data, non-conformance reports, customer feedback and more, offering an enterprise-wide view of quality management throughout the product lifecycle. Its wide range of leading applications offers out-of-the-box functionality and code-free configurability, enabling customers to tailor the solution to their specific needs and optimize critical operating processes to meet their quality, safety and environmental protection objectives.
"ETQ is an excellent complement to our market-leading quality data capture and intelligent digital reality solutions. This acquisition brings a wealth of skills and expertise in quality assurance to a multitude of sectors, providing an answer to the growing gap between the creation and exploitation of quality data.explains Olla Rollén, President and CEO of Hexagon. Interfacing data from our metrology systems with Reliance increases the degree of autonomy. This improves a customer's ability to implement quality and process data. ETQ also makes it possible to connect quality and process data across supply chains, bringing suppliers and customers together in a single system."
ETQ's advanced data management capabilities, based on machine learning and artificial intelligence, make quality data fully usable and available for upstream activities. This not only reduces scrap, defects, rectifications and recalls, but also establishes an autonomous feedback loop, the digital information trail and the virtuous cycle of continuous improvement.
"Hexagon has a long history of helping customers reap the benefits of data-driven automation and product quality information, combined with the freedom to create the manufacturing unit of tomorrow. An autonomous workshop with the ability to optimize and repair itself, continues Olla Rollén. Backed by our global presence, vertical synergies and range of complementary solutions, including the recent acquisition of EAM, ETQ is poised for rapid growth. We are proud to welcome ETQ to our group as we accelerate our ascent and create the world's first quality management platform encompassing all operational and management processes."
Founded in 1992, ETQ has U.S. operations in Massachusetts and Arizona, as well as an office in Dublin, Ireland. Its team of 185 quality experts ensures the success of customers in a variety of sectors, including life sciences, medical services, heavy industry, electronics, food and beverage, heavy processes and automotive manufacturing. ETQ will become part of Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division.
