NextMeasure breaks the codes of 3D metrology with the launch of a free universal software platform that puts user experience first. Accessible to all, the platform is designed for 3D measurement and analysis of the simplest to the most complex shapes, from the smallest to the largest. It uses measurement points and point clouds from a wide range of CAD file formats. Fast, reliable and compatible with all portable measuring devices on the market, the solution is the most ergonomic in the measurement industry for quality control.
In order to improve productivity and efficiency, more and more industrial companies are using portable measuring devices to collect precise measurements directly on the shop floor, and check the conformity of the parts produced, within the tolerances set by their customers. But traditional measurement software is often tied to one brand of measuring device, making it difficult to use different devices, change systems or users. NextMeasure has been designed to help industrial companies overcome these difficulties with a flexible solution that makes quality control faster and more efficient.
The innovative 3D metrology software solution for SMEs
NextMeasure offers SMIs an innovative, universal, reliable and ergonomic portable metrology solution. The software, developed by the French company Metrologic Group - Sandvik Group, is the fruit of over 40 years' expertise in 3D metrology. NextMeasure systematically offers free use of the basic and 3D analysis software, with download and use. To mark the launch of the platform, the advanced metrology features of NextMeasure version Plus are also available free of charge for a full year.
Extremely fast and easy to use, NextMeasure is accessible to all: metrology and quality staff, as well as technical operators in production. The software is aimed at small industrial companies producing one-off parts or small series (up to around 500 parts), by removing or adding material (machining, prototyping, molding, stamping, sheet metal, foundry, plastics, additive manufacturing, etc.).
Clément Martinèse, NextMeasure Application Specialist: " NextMeasure is particularly well suited to companies whose industrial production processes are constantly evolving. On Mondays, our customers produce the same part model in large quantities until Wednesday, then during the rest of the week, they produce parts with other constraints in small quantities, or even prototypes. "
Universal software
With NextMeasure, users can connect quickly and easily (Plug & Play configuration) to all portable measuring systems used in the company, whatever their brand. This applies to measuring arms for small and medium-sized parts, 3D scanners for small parts, and laser trackers or radar lasers for large parts. NextMeasure puts an end to multiple training courses! In a single user environment, employees can quickly switch from one measurement system to another. They can even easily evaluate articulated arms from different brands (for example), to make the right choice before investing.
Perform a complete part analysis and generate a report in just a few clicks
Simply download the software for immediate use. With the basic version of the software (Free version), the user is able to carry out a complete analysis of the part, i.e. compare lengths, diameters and shapes against the theoretical plan, to determine whether or not the part conforms. NextMeasure benefits from a proven architecture and compatibility with Iso/Asme reporting standards. Measurements take just a few minutes. In just a few clicks, the user proceeds to data acquisition: import a CAD file (Step, Iges), point clouds and/or probing points, align the CAD file and point cloud (different types of alignment including Autofit for automatic alignment), filter the scan if necessary.
The user then performs the analysis. He has the option of creating a "color mapping" (very useful for complex parts) and evaluates the GD&T measurements. The user can display all the important information (deviation, trend, etc.) for his analysis in the form of labels, and of course, size, color, everything is customizable. All that's left to do is edit the measurement report (email, Word, Excel) using the quick and easy drag & drop system. With NextMeasure Plus, the user measures the part himself
Simply connect NextMeasure Plus to the selected portable measuring device, retrieve the probing or scan data and proceed with the part inspection. Without needing to be an expert in metrology, users can carry out measurement scenarios ranging from the simplest to the most complex. The Leap frog function makes it easy to measure very large parts, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors. NextMeasure Plus offers flexible add-on packages to meet the user's specific needs for in-depth part analysis, probing assistance, point cloud inspection, native CAD format import and point cloud export. In addition to the free basic version, NextMeasure PLUS is available free of charge for one year to mark the launch of the platform.
A premium user experience
Step-by-step guidance is provided, from connection to the measuring device through to report generation, via tutorials available on the online platform. Faq support is available, as are a forum and themed webinars. If you have any questions, a hotline and online chat complete the Plus version.
NextMeasure's streamlined design is designed to make the software extremely easy to use. Users can even work off-line, in Free mode, for 3D analysis, for example.
