Susceptible to blockage, damage and wear, and often not easily accessible, pumps need to be monitored to prevent overflow and contamination of public and residential areas. IFM's new VSP004 piezoelectric accelerometer is the answer.
This robust, shock-proof accelerometer, designed for standard industrial applications and hazardous areas, can be submerged under 100 m of water. It communicates continuously with IFM VSE's diagnostic electronics, providing fault information before serious damage occurs. This information is then transmitted via Ethernet to higher-level systems for monitoring or alarm management. These devices can also be coupled with IFM's SmartObserver supervision software, enabling easy remote management of submersible pumps via a user-friendly interface.
Thanks to vibration diagnostics, pumps are protected because the VSP004 detects cavitation, unbalance, bearing wear, seal wear and blockages caused by dirt and other objects in good time.
Additional features:
- Wide measuring range ± 50 g
- Robust IP 68 enclosure, submersible under 100 m of water
- Available in versions for hazardous areas, Atex, IECEx and standard zones
