Zeiss, the global specialist in industrial metrology, has announced the release of Zeiss Calypso 2023, the annual update of its flagship measurement software. This new version features five notable evolutions that reinforce Calypso's ability to meet the ever-changing demands of geometric dimensioning and quality control.
A new GD&T bookshop
In order to comply with ISO GPS (Geometric Product Specifications) and ASME Y14.5 standards, Zeiss Calypso 2023 integrates a brand-new library of functions for shape and position control. This innovation offers the flexibility to switch between ISO and ASME standards in just a few clicks, expanding the possibilities for the use of complex references compliant with the latest standards. What's more, these enhanced functions will enable better translation of additional symbols such as CZ, SZ, E, MMC, etc.
A better user experience
The new Toolbox considerably simplifies access to software functions, integrating improved ergonomics directly into Calypso's graphical interface. Users can now easily access all software functions, eliminating the need to explore multiple menus. What's more, this toolbox is fully customizable, enabling users to configure their own set of frequently-used functions for maximum efficiency.
PiWeb report enhancement

Zeiss PiWeb quality data management and reporting software links metrology results from different measurement technologies to decisions on the shop floor. For efficient monitoring of production quality.
Piweb Reporting has also undergone significant enhancements, including new functionalities and improved representation modes, simplifying the exploitation of results within quality processes. What's more, curious users can now discover the full extent of Piweb's capabilities by obtaining a 90-day trial license in just a few clicks directly from the software interface.
Simplified data centralization
With the latest Zeiss Calypso 2023 version, all data can now be accessed via the PiWeb database. This feature makes it easy to attach additional documents such as PDF reports, definition drawings, CAD models and manufacturing routings to each measurement, simplifying data management and traceability. Enhanced optical measurement
Version 2023 of Calypso is enriched by a number of new features related to optical measurement, in particular via the Zeiss O-Inspect & Zeiss O-Detect multi-sensor measuring machines. Notable improvements include automatic feature recognition and optimized measurement times thanks to the ZVP (Zeiss Vast Probing) option. This feature, previously reserved for point-to-point measurements, is now also available for optical measurements, considerably reducing inspection times - up to 35 % in some cases.
With Zeiss Calypso 2023, Zeiss continues to push back the boundaries of metrology, offering metrologists more powerful and easier-to-use measurement tools than ever before.
Calypso in the spotlight at Zeiss Digital Days 2023-2024
In keeping with its commitment to bringing technical information to its customers, Zeiss is organizing Zeiss Digital Days throughout France. These technical days will take place over eight regional dates at Quality Excellence Centers or Zeiss partners, from December 2023 to March 2024.
The aim of these days is to plunge you into the world of Zeiss software, designed to improve the performance of industrial machines. In particular, they will showcase the new Calypso products and enable customers to get a better idea of the new features. On the program:
- Discover the latest software releases: Zeiss Calypso, Piweb, Zeiss Inspect (formerly known as GOM Inspect)
- Presentation of Zeiss digital solutions: Zeiss Portal - the personalized extranet, Zeiss Webshop - for online accessory ordering and Smart Service - for optimal machine maintenance.
The first dates are already scheduled and open for registration:
- December 12 in Toulouse (31)
- December 14 in Pau (64)
- January 16 at Neuville-sur-Oise (95)
