Creaform, a leading provider of 3D optical measurement technologies and 3D engineering services, today announced the results of its 2010 fiscal year. The company had its best year since inception, with annual sales of 27.3 M$, representing growth of 25 % over 2009. In addition, fourth-quarter sales of 9.6 M$ set a new record for the company, representing an increase of 49 % over Q4 2009.
Technology sales were up by 35 %: Handyscan 3D scanners enjoyed sustained growth, while HandyPROBE sales jumped by 179 %, due in part to the addition of two new sensor models to the range and the addition of some twenty new distributors worldwide.
" Creaform can boast excellent 12-month results for 2010, which is all the more impressive given that Creaform had a good year in 2009 despite the difficult economic climate. Clearly, record sales of our new MetraSCAN optical CMM 3D scanner have contributed greatly to these results. "said Martin Lamontagne, Creaform's Chief Executive Officer.
Creaform made investments in the order of 4 M$ in 2010, including the acquisition of two companies (In Speck and Genicad). By investing in this way, Creaform has acquired high-calibre expertise and know-how, and expects to achieve an excellent return on investment in 2011.
During the year, Creaform consolidated its international presence by opening a subsidiary in Germany and an office in India. The company also increased its market share in 3D engineering services, and was named "Company of the Year 2010" by the Quebec Aerospace Association.
