Optris GmbH's portable and fixed infrared thermometers have been designed for the metal processing industry. Portable devices are designed for occasional measurements, while stationary devices are used for continuous quality management and process control.
Optris' range of short-wave IR thermometers for precise surface measurement of metals is identified by 1M, 2M and 3M. The innovation enables the 3M fixed thermometer to start measuring at as low as 50°C, so metals and composites can now be inspected at near-ambient temperatures. 1M thermometers are calibrated up to 1800°C, for applications such as welding or hardening.
Portable devices can be used, for example, in hardening shops where temperature measurements are occasional but demanding, and anywhere where rapid measurement implementation is important. If a large number of measurement points are required (OEM use), the small and very affordable thermometers of the compact series are available. Thanks to their high-precision optics, the sensors in the high-performance series are capable of measuring points as small as 0.5 mm, which are precisely targeted by the innovative dual-laser sighting system.
One of the strengths of certain fixed devices is their remote electronics. These devices can be installed on induction processes without fear of interference from electromagnetic fields. The variety of input/output options and interfaces (analog and digital), and the ease of use of the display/keypad, make remote electronics easy to integrate into both existing and new systems.
The optris CTratio 1M bichromatic pyrometer consists of a measuring head connected to a separate fiber-optic electronics box. The measuring head and fiber-optic cable can be used in environments up to 250°C without additional cooling.
