Last October 14, Endress+Hauser has inaugurated a new reception center at its Cernay site (Alsace). Klaus Endress, Group CEO Endress+Hauser and Gerhard Jost, Managing Director ofEndress+Hauser Flowtec AGThis shows the importance that Swiss society attaches to this center.
The foundation stone for the new customer center was laid in March 2010. After a year and a half's construction work, the building is now ready for its intended purpose. In addition to a company restaurant, the 820 m² usable surface area includes several rooms and an auditorium designed to welcome the 3,000 visitors (in fact, a little more) who come to the Cernay site every year. " This new building solves our production space problems and offers our customers and visitors an optimal welcome. "explained Gerhard Jost. Endress+Hauser has invested some 1.3 million euros in this new building. It has to be said that Cernay has become one of the main sites for its flowmetering activity. While the site had 16 employees when it was founded in 1991, 20 years later it already has 265.
In CernayEndress+Hauser commissioned one of the world's largest and most modern calibration facilities in 2001. Before delivery, the measuring instruments manufactured here undergo a thorough examination and are calibrated to maximum accuracy.
Thanks to this investment, the offices currently located in the workshops can be relocated to the new building, making better use of the existing production area. " This will enable us to organize our production processes more flexibly and react more quickly to market and customer needs. "says Matthias Aschberger, Cernay site manager. Two years ago, Endress+Hauser had passed the milestone of one million electromagnetic flowmeters produced, which calls for highly sophisticated production logistics.
