Serge Ailhaud, 53, has been appointed head of SKF France as General Manager. He succeeds Jean Tournoux. SKF is best known for its bearings, lubricants and sealing solutions, but it is also a major player in the world of vibration measurement, with condition monitoring solutions in particular.
SKF is one of the world's leading suppliers of products and solutions in the markets for bearings, services, sealing solutions, mechatronics and lubrication systems. The Swedish group generates sales of nearly 7.5 billion euros and employs 46,000 people. In France, sales of SKF totaled 1.2 billion euros in 2011, with nearly 3,600 employees.
Serge Ailhaud joined SKF in 1982 as a sales engineer. His early career was marked by both technical and operational positions, involving national and then European responsibilities. From 2000 to 2005, he was particularly involved in production at European level. From 2005, he took on global responsibilities in the strategic purchasing field.
