With its new XSense touch sensor technology, Atmel could revolutionize the design of most equipment that uses touch controls. These sensors come in the form of a thin, transparent, flexible film. As a transparent wire, with excellent optical transmission power, they can be used on touch screens, to which they will bring greater brightness. But it's the "flexible" aspect that attracts the most attention, as it will free designers from the constraints imposed by current touch sensors, which can only be used on flat surfaces. From now on, they'll be able to integrate their touch controls on curved surfaces or very close to the edges.
