Bureau Veritas has made two new acquisitions in Germany: UniCar Groupa company specializing in automotive inspection services, and European Compliance Laboratory (ECL), an electrical and electronic test laboratory. With the recent acquisition of PockrandtSince the beginning of the year, the Group has integrated three new companies in Germany, representing a total of 14 million euros in annual sales. Founded in 1979, with operational headquarters in Bremen, UniCar offers fleet quality control services throughout the supply chain. The company inspects new vehicles during transport between manufacturing plants, storage sites and port terminals. These services are aimed at automakers, logistics companies, vehicle rental companies and insurance companies. They are designed to check vehicle quality and reduce the risk of damage. The company employs over 150 people and is present in over 60 ports worldwide. In 2011, it generated sales of almost 8 million euros. Founded in 1987, European Compliance Laboratory (ECL) is a laboratory that used to be a branch of Tempton Groupa German human resources services company. Based in Nuremberg, ECL is a specialist in safety, reliability and electromagnetic compatibility testing of electrical and electronic products, and offers calibration services. Its services are mainly aimed at manufacturers of industrial and consumer electrical appliances, telecommunications equipment and medical devices, as well as automotive OEMs and suppliers. ECL employs 15 people and generated sales of 2 million euros in 2011.
