The announcement, made during the Paris Air Show, caused less of a stir than the flights of new aircraft or the explosion in manufacturers' order books. But, in the world of measurement, it was significant. It was the launch of the French alliance SEMI in the fields of simulation, testing and measurement & instrumentation for the aerospace industry. Most of the companies involved are SMEs, and the aim is to be able to present more complete solutions when major customers issue invitations to tender for aerospace test benches.
The association SEMI brings together two laboratories (theENSEA and theENSTA ParisTech) and fourteen companies. The latter include a number of major groups such as Dassault Systèmes or Safran-Messier Bugatti Dowtybut especially SMEs (Silkan, Avantis Technology, Celians, ControlSys, BCSA Gear, Nexyad, RMS, SDI, Sysma or even Texense).
The association, which is hosted by the AsTech Paris RegionIt will also play an educational role, promoting the technologies developed by its members.
