Apave subsidiary Sopemea, which in France groups together a number of laboratories specializing in environmental testing of materials and equipment used in a wide range of sectors (aeronautics, space, defense, railways, energy, nuclear, automotive and medical), has just signed the acquisition of UK laboratory Parc (Product Assessment and Reliability Centre Ltd).
Located in Bideford (England), the laboratory boasts almost 20 years' experience in vibration, shock, climatic, salt spray, tightness and altitude testing, as well as HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing).
The Parc laboratory strengthens the Sopemea group's range of services, which includes identical tests for industrial players in the air and ground transport, energy and defense sectors.
For Stéphane Torrez, President of the Sopemea Group: " This acquisition represents a fantastic opportunity to establish ourselves for the first time outside our borders, in a territory with very high potential. Parc gives us the opportunity to support our customers' international business by providing them with a local presence and a full range of testing and maintenance services. "
Richard Tabor, General Manager of Parc, said: " I am delighted with the acquisition of Parc by the Sopemea group. It will enable the laboratory to pursue its development by offering its British customers the full range of services of a recognized leader. "
Ukas accredited, Parc is a 900 m² laboratory equipped with 6 electrodynamic vibration generators and 24 climatic chambers. It employs 17 people.
This acquisition will enable the Sopemea group to complete and expand its range of services for British industries and its many French customers in the UK.
